Top Ten List and Interview with Christina Lynn Lambert, Author of Bear’s Edge

Interview

Welcome to The Romance Reviews, Christina!

Q: What’s your inspiration for Stranger Creatures series? What connects all the stories?

Hope, second chances, and the notion that people don’t have to be perfect to be deserving of love are ideas that I wanted to bring to the stories in the Stranger Creatures series. I created characters who had to find the strength to love and trust again. The stories are all connected by the existence of people who possess enhanced abilities such as the ability to shift into a predatory animal, sicken people with a touch, or have the capability of doing amazing and terrifying things using only the power of their minds.

Q: Tell us more about Grant, your hero in Bear’s Edge, Stranger Creatures #2. What made him into the shifter we meet in the book?

Grant lost the only people in his life he truly cared about in a tragic fire. Grant was hurt badly as well but the reason he didn’t die along with his friends and girlfriend was that two bear shifter brothers saved him by making him into a bear shifter. Grant spent a few years being less than thrilled to be alive. When we meet Grant, he is fighting his growing attraction to Shayla and not just because Shayla is his boss.

Q: What about Shayla? What happened in the bombing three years ago?

Shayla lived through a terrifying incident where she was injured by a bomb that exploded inside a crowded commuter van. It took just a few minutes for her life to change forever. Life doesn’t simply return to normal for her after she leaves the hospital. She hides and sulks for a while and then takes a long look at her job, her life, and her attitude. She finds the strength and determination to get back out into the world and go after what she wants.

Q: With an angry ex and a nosy reporter, Shayla’s life and business are on the line. What is a kickass moment for Shayla?

Shayla is pretty kickass in general. She survived a bombing and started her own business all while dealing with the aftereffects of the disaster she endured. There’s a particular skill set she possesses that she’s been afraid to use because she worries that using that particular talent will make her lose her humanity. When she’s confronted with a fight-or-die situation, Shayla makes the decision to embrace her talent.

Q: What draws you to write paranormal romance?

I love the idea of bending reality and I tend to write places and characters that are so much more than they seem at first glance.

Thanks for this lovely interview, Christina!

Bear shifter Grant wants his beautiful boss, Shayla. Will he risk his job and his barely healed heart to convince her to be his everything?
After sexy bear shifter Grant lost his girlfriend and three best friends in a fire, he decided he was done with love, done with people, done with pretty much everything. One woman has him rethinking his whole strategy.
As his boss, Shayla is off-limits, so Grant keeps his feelings for her under wraps until…the attraction doesn’t seem so one-sided. Grant takes a risk and lays a piece of his heart on the line. When things get hotter than he could have imagined, Grant wonders- will some of his darker desires be too much for Shayla or will she embrace the needs he’s kept hidden for so long?
A reporter who covered the bombing Shayla survived three years before is convinced the only reason Shayla survived is because she’s some type of bionic medical experiment or superhuman freak. When the reporter ropes Shayla’s angry ex, Hunter into the mix, Shayla’s business and her life are on the line. Can she and Grant trust in each other and find a way to slay all the obstacles that stand in their way?

About Christina Lynn Lambert

Christina Lynn Lambert

A few years ago, I read my first romance novel and I was hooked, so much so that I decided to give the idea of writing a story a chance. My style is more gritty than sweet and I look forward to writing many more stories with strong heroines and imperfect but determined characters. Love, courage, hope, and second chances are a few of my favorite themes. When I’m not writing, I enjoy spending time with my family, usually hiking or swimming or finding a new place to explore.
