Team Lucifer?

This Band of Brothers Will Steal Your Heart!

Introducing the Demons after Dark series! It’s hot paranormal romance featuring unlikely alpha heroes who will make you laugh, cry, and swoon. Known only as Trinity demons, this band of brothers was stripped of their powers and violently exiled from Hell. Forced to live as humans, they’re left with no memories and no weapons while a secret society quietly plots Lucifer’s demise. For these big, bad demons, adjusting to life as a human is, well, harder than Hell!

Thanks to her family’s curse, psychic Dylan McDonagh has been promised to a sadistic soul broker demon and she’s desperate to escape a terrifying future. After an impulsive act leads her to Morningstar Sanitarium, she’s inexplicably drawn to the sad and mysterious Vanek, but their tentative connection is broken when they escape and go their separate ways. Forced into hiding, Dylan turns to Expat Security for protection. Stunned to find the disturbingly sexy Vanek working there, she almost walks away. Another demon is the last thing she needs in her life.

Formerly one of Hell’s most renowned Painkillers, Vanek is horrified with being human until he discovers he’s been thrown into the body of a badass mercenary with a definite kinky streak and a box of sex toys. Wondering how he got so lucky, he jumps into his new role as second in command of Trinity’s new ops center–Expat Security. When Dylan comes to them for help, he knows he’s got to handle her case personally. As his attraction to her grows, so does the conspiracy that landed him in Brooklyn.

Warning: This story contains snort out loud humor, intensely hot sex, a blistering antihero, and a damsel with a steel backbone. The author takes no responsibility for missed work or grouchiness from lack of sleep.

Vanek pressed his forehead against the glass, letting the cold seep into his skin, hoping it would slow the torrent of raw, destructive fury raging though him. Dylan didn’t need to see him like this. He was trying to earn her trust; trying to show her how different he was from that scumbag broker. Losing his shit and breaking the furniture wasn’t the way to do that. So he’d moved to the window and worked to keep in control.

He felt her arms slip around his waist. She held him loosely, no pressure, no demands. Her delicate fingers linked over his stomach; her cheek rested on his back. He froze. What was she thinking? He was so pissed off, he was probably smoking, yet she dared to cuddle up to the flames?

“Vanek?” Her voice was tight, unsure.

“Go away, Dylan. I’m not in a good place right now.”

She stiffened but didn’t listen. Instead, she wedged herself between him and the window and said, “You and Aiden both have anger issues. Is that a demon thing?”

Was she fucking with him? He had to bend his neck to see her face. Her eyes were a little too bright, her smile a little too brittle. She was trying to be funny, but her flippant words hit a little too close to home, and she knew it the minute she said them. She didn’t back down though. The tension running through her showed how afraid she really was. She nearly vibrated with it; stubbornness was the only thing keeping her feet in place and her chin lifted.

This woman . . . She was undoing everything he thought he knew about humans. She wasn’t weak and stupid. She was brave and strong. Stubborn and kind. Resilient and fucking sexy. If he wasn’t careful, she’d worm her way under his skin and make him want to stay. That couldn’t happen. But if she wanted to poke the beast, play on the dark side, who was he to resist the temptation?

“Careful, babe. You won’t like me when I’m pissed off. I’m not one of the good guys.” He took her by both wrists and walked her back against the glass. Her heartbeat skyrocketed. He allowed himself a satisfied grin before saying, “You might even say I’m wicked.” Stretching her arms over her head, he trapped her hands in one of his own. Cupping her breast, he brought her just to the edge of pain. Her nipple swelled and tightened against his palm. That quick glint of fear left her eyes, replaced by hunger, lust that mirrored his.

Softening his hold, he smoothed his palm over her breast until she whimpered and let her eyes drift closed. Squeezing hard enough to pop her eyes back open, he buried his face against her neck and murmured, “Some might say I’m insatiable.”

She shivered in anticipation, her body melting against his. Taking that as permission, he held her in place, rocking his hips to brush his erection against her mound with maddening slowness. “Hunger’s a demon thing.”

Her pulse thudded as he dragged his mouth over her throat and nibbled the tender skin underneath her ear. “I’m so hungry, I could eat you alive.”

With eyes wide open, she angled her jaw towards his mouth, chasing his kiss. He was in no hurry to give her what she wanted. Taking his time, he explored her neck, kissing and sucking the pulse out of her artery. It throbbed madly against his tongue, making him crazy with lust. His teeth closed over it, nipping softly then sucking away the hurt. Nip. Suck. Repeat.

She arched her neck into his mouth, whispering over a groan, “God, what you’re doing . . . feels so good . . . Mmm, don’t ever stop.”

“You say that now . . .”
