It’s the perfect time to binge read series I never had time for. And there are a lot!
Personally, I’m going to binge read Nalini Singh’s Psy-Changeling series. I hear you gasping in horror. Yes, I’m the ___ (I’m not sure of the correct word) who hasn’t read the entire series yet. Oh, I’ve read a few of the books, but not enough that would give me an idea of the series arc. So that’s my main goal for this quarantine.
In a world that denies emotions, where the ruling Psy punish any sign of desire, Sascha Duncan must conceal the feelings that brand her as flawed. To reveal them would be to sentence herself to the horror of “rehabilitation”–the complete psychic erasure of everything she ever was…
Another series I’m thinking of binge reading (aside from other kinds of reading) is Lucy Parker’s London Celebrities series. I’ve actually read the first book, but I think a re-read is in order. Read this review by another reviewer here.
A sharp-witted heroine and an infuriating-but-swoon-worthy leading man bring down the house in this utterly charming contemporary romance debut from Lucy Parker
I think there are more than enough books in that series and the next to keep me occupied. For those who’ve read those, I’ve got other recs:
She’s a demon-slayer who hungers for sensual pleasure-but fears it will always be denied her. Until Tayla Mancuso lands in a hospital run by demons in disguise, and the head doctor, Eidolon, makes her body burn with unslakable desire. But to prove her ultimate loyalty to her peers, she must betray the surgeon who saved her life.
Okay, this book is actually the start of an amazing series has a lot of books in it. Book 9, Rogue Rider, is about Pestilence. Kinda perfect for this time, right? Read my review here.
Honoria Todd has more secrets than most people and she’s hiding them in Whitechapel. Blade is the master of the rookeries and agrees to protect her, but at what price?
This is a new cover for Firelight, first book in the Darkest London series by Kristen Callihan. I think I like the old one better. But this series is awesome!
Miranda Ellis is a woman tormented. Plagued since birth by a strange and powerful gift, she has spent her entire life struggling to control her exceptional abilities. Yet one innocent but irreversible mistake has left her family’s fortune decimated and forced her to wed London’s most nefarious nobleman.
The Fallen Empire series by Grace Draven will have the 2nd book coming out some time soon, so it’s good to pick this up now. This is Fantasy Romance, a perfect balance of fantasy and romance, unlike others where it’s 70% romance and 30% fantasy.
To protect her family and village, she will abandon everything to return to the Empire–and burn once more.
The Romano Sisters by Amanda Weaver. Book 3 is coming up soon so you won’t have long to wait to complete the series.
Suddenly Jess isn’t just bothered by Alex; she’s hot and bothered. Hot sex and swoony romance are almost enough to make her forget the vast divide between old media and new…and the Romanos from Brooklyn and the Drakes of Manhattan.
The series recommended above are mostly contemporary, fantasy and paranormal genres. Let me see if I can dig up other genres for another day’s post.
