5 stars from Gabrielle Sally!

If you read the summary to Leigh Podgorski’s WESTERN SONG, you might be left wondering about the story because let’s admit it, there’s not much there. “Contemporary Western Love Story about a bull riding rancher and his deceased best buddy’s Thai immigrant mail order bride. As she discovers the power of freedom, he discovers he’s lost his heart.” Am I right? If you enjoy stories like this, you may be more likely to one-click but if you’re on the fence, would it tease you enough?

If you are curious enough to one-click, I have to warn you that this isn’t a story you can absorb in one sitting; in fact, you might need to read it more than once. From the sweeping, panoramic descriptions of Wyoming to the intensity of the emotions portrayed, this story instantly tugged at my heartstrings.

Weston is the quintessential strong, silent type reminiscent of many cowboy stories and why yes, he has a fearsome temper. As readers, we barely scratch the surface of Song’s strength and it is only as the story progresses do we realize the depth of what she’s willing to do to break free of the constraints laid upon her at an early age. Together, they balance each other out in a meaningful and progressive way that will leave you clutching your chest when you realize that love can grow even in the strangest of circumstances.

This is my first story by Leigh Podgorski and if this is an example of the quality of work she creates, you can definitely add my name to the list of new fans. It’s wonderful.

Also, 5 stars from Vera!

“Leigh Podgorsk, with writing which is clear, easy to follow, and with vivid descriptions, turned a standard book into an outstanding novel. Her prose, structure, development, fast pacing, and multi-layered plotting, I gave top marks. Furthermore, Podgorksi created a clean book without the use of sex or fluff to fill the pages; however, still contains intense emotional drama between her characters. Western Song deserves several readings and I plan to reread it again and again. I would not hesitate to buy this book for myself or a friend.”

Review: Legacy of Evil by Sharon Buchbinder

NEW BOOK RELEASE !!
The exciting next installment from the Hotel LaBelle Series by Sharon Buchbinder
Review

5 stars from Gabrielle Sally!

“Wow, where to begin. This story was amazing. From the paranormal skills to the marvelous chemistry between the characters, I thoroughly enjoyed this story from start to finish. The details on the Crow nation as well as the other groups (spoilers!) were so well researched, the reading was as smooth as butter. Okay, that analogy worked better in my head. And Gaucho. I LOVED Gaucho. What a fantastic addition to an already entertaining story. Oh, and the sarcastic nicknames had me giggling.”

“I was impressed with Marilyn Baron’s THE ALIBI. There’s a richness of language that paints a picture making it easy, as readers, to drop into the story… THE ALIBI is an unfolding of a tale filled with Southern, small town mystery, intrigue, suspense, murder, and a bit of down home charm…an absolute enjoyable read.”

Review: A Good Year by Tara Fox Hall

REVIEW

4 stars from Gabrielle Sally!

A GOOD YEAR by Tara Fox Hall was unexpected…there’s so much more going on. As you read this story, which you will because you’ll want to, keep in mind the questions: What would you do to save what’s most important to you? How far would you go? How would you respond if you were having misgivings but couldn’t stop?…

There’s a budding romance growing. It is most definitely not one of those insta-attractions that permeate so many stories, this one grows at a leisurely pace and while we might want to think of it as unconventional, it really isn’t. More importantly, we are left with the original question: What would you do?

A Good Year
There’s No Heaven….Like Hell
Faced with losing Pandora Productions as well as her best friend Rebecca to the smarmy Paul, savvy film executive Debbie makes a pact with the demon Shaker, agreeing to bind herself to him as his human master in return for killing Paul. When the intended coup goes amiss, resulting in the deaths of both Rebecca and Paul, Debbie finds herself alone at Pandora’s helm, facing a rising tide of corporate enemies led by Paul’s duplicitous son Dante and the behemoth Titan Pictures. Shaker’s backing smoothes the way, solving some problems supernaturally, others through brutal bloodshed, even as he calls into play various preternatural and human allies to assist Debbie.
As the months pass, Debbie’s strong resolve begins to crumble under the weight of her actions, even as she guiltily concedes the pleasure she finds in Shaker’s arms is becoming something more than just affection. Is there hope for a happy ending built on so much evil? Or is Debbie doomed to lose her heart as well as her soul to a demon who has only been waiting for the chance to claim both?
It takes talent on the part of an author to get me rooting for someone who’s decidedly not a ‘good person’. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I would recommend to anyone who likes something a little different in the way of paranormal romance and would enjoy a more mature heroine. Five Stars.

Review: Chasing Swells by A.L. Goulden

REVIEW

5 stars from Gabrielle Sally!

“Against the backdrop of surfing, this is a fun romance that blossoms slowly, building as the story unfolds. The small details like the charity work and various foundations as well as the different locales add dimension to the story. The various secondary characters help to bring out what’s great about both Dean and Azure and the finale, which takes place in my hometown, is all the more memorable leaving me with a large contented sigh. You don’t have to like sports or specifically surfing to enjoy this story. It’s a sweet romance with its happily ever after.”
